We decided to use our trash stash for this week's craft. These are items that would otherwise get tossed, and we turned them into a good half hour of creativity. Here are the results:
Supplies:scissors
glue
toilet paper/paper towel roll
scrap green paper from food packaging, junk mail, old magazines, and previous art projects (we also have straws and rubber bands in there)
Steps: Cut green paper in any shape
Glue the paper to the top of your toilet paper roll

We had a bit of bark from a coconut tree we had gathered at the seawall the day before. It got glued on as the bark of our recycle tree.

Very cute idea!
I just found this link online:

It is an April calendar talking about Earth Day. My kids immediately started asking questions because Big Bird is at the top of the calendar. It gave me a good opportunity to talk about taking care of the earth.
