I was originally inspired to start this blog because I was tired of doing the same activities with my children every day. I am a full-time mom of two children, ages 3 and 5. Our typical day includes reading books, watching tv, playing with toys and coloring pictures. It’s not that I am unwilling to do other things, it’s just that I lack creativity to come up with fun, enriching activities that my children and I would enjoy. I also have a strong desire to be a better mother, to foster my children’s imaginations, and to introduce them to new things. I hope this blog can be a source of excitement, of learning, and of inspiring ideas for all of us!

So we've said our good-bye's to Fiji, but moving around the world is going to be a standard procedure for this family in the years to come. Because I can't always rely on outside sources, I feel a duty to be the the primary provider of wholesome and educational entertainment for my kids---all accomplished in a loving atmosphere. (and yes, piles of dirty dishes and dust bunnies can and do exist within my loving atmosphere!) I'm no expert in early childhood education, but I've done some parenting homework and put my creative juices to the test many times. I'm excited to share my successes and failures with all of you. Plus, I need to learn your mothering secrets!

My daughter loves singing & playing her instruments right now, so this will be a lot of fun. I will have to see if any local high school have any type of concerts going on.
Ok so I just put my name on the linky thingy with nothing else. Oops. Anyway, I just discoved two new books for my 3 year old. They really have nothing to do with the theme, but I want to share anyway so thanks for reading. :)

Talks about selflessness and kindness. Made me cry.
#2 "The Big Blue Spot", by Peter Holwitz
Great for color mixing, and an art project. Plus it is crative and funny.
On the theme...I made some bean bags with rice (doesn't sprout after it ends up in a kid's mouth) the other day. I found some good songs that tell you what to do with the bean bags "on your head, nose" etc. Very fun
Don't worry about the empty link Tricia, I fixed it. And thanks for the great book suggestions. Feel free to share your bean bag songs with us as well, sounds like fun!
